Music producer Phil Spector was finally found guilty of second-degree murder in the February 2003 death of Lana Clarkson, a struggling actress, who died of a gunshot wound in Spector's Los Angeles home. It only took 6 years for justice to be served but it was finally. Phil Spector is going to be someone's bitch for the rest of his life at 69 year-old.
Spector, was sentenced on May 29, and was immediately taken into state custody after a Los Angeles Superior Court jury returned its guilty verdict. Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. The charges are second-degree murder and unlawful personal use of a gun. At the first trial, the jury was deadlock. But the second jury return a guilty verdict earlier this year. He is currently being process:
Spector, 69, is being held at North Kern State Prison, where he is being evaluated before receiving a permanent prison assignment, corrections spokesman Gordon Hinkle said. The process could take up to 70 days.
The mug shot, which shows a bald-pated Spector, was taken on June 5 as part of the routine intake process.
California prison inmates are not permitted to wear wigs under Title 15, Article 5, Section 3062 of the state's prison regulations, which addresses inmate hygiene. Corrections officials also are concerned that wigs can be used to hide contraband.
LOL... Unfortunately for Mr. Phil Spector bald head, the California prison system does not allow prisoners to wear wigs or hair pieces unlike in the Los Angeles jails. The originator of the "Wall of Sound" production technique, Spector was a pioneer of the 1960s girl group sound and clocked in over twenty-five Top 40 hits between 1960 and 1965. In later years he worked with such artists as Ike and Tina Turner, John Lennon, George Harrison and the Ramones with similar success, including production work on the Academy Award winning Let It Be and Grammy Award winning Concert for Bangladesh soundtracks. In 1989, Spector was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer.
The 1965 song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'", produced and co-written by Spector for the The Righteous Brothers, is listed by BMI as the song with the most U.S. air play in the 20th century.
